"To create one's world in any of the arts takes courage."

Ever since I was a young boy,   I've been enthralled with writing.

The tools, the process, the finished product. Making my living as an author is definitely a dream come true. I'm proud to have collaborated with some of the most talented writers in the industry. Each day, I strive to create the best art I can. When I succeed, my flights of fancy come alive in people's hearts and minds through my writing.

Samuel Woodworth wrote the lyrics in 1817 and G. F. Kiallmark adapted them to music in 1826.

Though quite popular through the 1800s, this beloved tune reached it's height of popularity between 1870 and 1920. It was once a school yard standard.
